Anyone here widen your rear wells after a frame notch thinking about doing a 2" widening any one have any good pics or tips before i start cutting?

That is stretching the wheel opening for huge tires i'm talking about making the factory wheel tubs wider.

I guess the question is how big a tire do you want to run? I am notched to the "seam" on my 78' monte and the wheel well is now about flush with the frame. From the factory the wheel well is further toward the center of the car than the frame. I only gained maybe 3/4 of an inch by notching the frame. If you go any more than that you should reinforce the frame in some fashion. You will still only gain maybe another inch or so before you cut the frame completely in half and at that point you might as well back half the car and go full on pro street. So, in my opinion it's not really neccasary to widen the wheel well unless you plan on back halfing the car. Notched to the seam I am running 285 40 18 tires (11.6 tread width) and have plenty of room. Maybe safely get another 1/4 or so. The fender lips are slightly trimmed as well.

There are a couple posts on here where they cut floor at back wheel-well split at seam move in ward to desired and then filled inner well to outer well . After removing some foam from seat back to get a factory look . Oh there was allot more but you get it. I'll see if I can find it .

I notched my frame so it was flush with the inner wheelwell and I have 15" x 9.5" Centerline rims with 5.5" of backspace and I am running 295/55R15 M/T drag radials that are 27.80" tall, have 10.90" of tread and a section with of 12.00"
The tires are still tucked in a little and I still have enough clearance between the tire and the frame.

I guess you could call it a mini tub but reusing the factory tubs just adding a filling in the middle. 315/35/18 tires are the smallest i want to go the frame is notched to the seam (and well braced) gained about 1" on both sides and my wheel tubs overhang the frame now by about 3/4" which i could dolly in but if the tire sinks up in the tub it will hit due to the tub narrowing at the top. I plan on a 11" wheel and my wheel lips are trimmed about in half up to the tack welds.
