I found this but it doesn't give numbers for amount of regals that were converted after leaving the factory.

I would Imagine any experienced specialty shop guy could slap together a halfway descent 'vert setup, just a matter of how good you want it to look and perform.

I think the only factory convertibles were a few montes, right?

As far as hack jobs go that Regal seems pretty good. Too bad the owners didn't keep it in the best condition throughout the years. 😢

None were built at the factory.

Any G-body convertible would've been built at a post-production coach builder.
yep, spoke to a guy who is knowledged in them, said only a handful were done conversions at coach builders once they left the buick factory. not a hack job.

nice car its just missing chrome trim on top of the 1/4s where the top goes down. matrix also built them.
i love when people say must be a hack job. the 86 aero was not a factory car nor was the gnx and nobody calls them hack jobs asc did them as they did many other cars. at one time coach built cars were big money.
if anyone wants i can make a post of convertibles who built them pics and stuff like that even a ad that was in one of my cars. some also had tags on them where they were done both powertop and non power top cars were built. g body powertop shares the same top parts as a elco, rive and torando of the 80`s but they were not called hack jobs. because more of them were made and sold most by asc, hessand eisenhart and matrix all usining the same parts. nce does this today with newwer cars even with a 05 monte they did it
