I was talking with my friend about remote start and it made me wonder how would one work with a carbed engine?? I pump the gas when I start my car.
If you can play Gameboy, you can start your car. :lol:dream on mcss said:When your ready to start it you just hit the button a few times and your good to go.

Any kind of remote operated solenoid could be made to work if it's strong enough to work against the throttle springs. You could rev the car without being next to it. 8)
On a cold day when you need to let the car warm up while you're getting ready for work, you'd have to go to the window, "hit the gas" a couple times, "crank it" with the remote starter, see/listen if it's starting, and maybe give the gas a couple more hits if it sounds/looks like it's dying. So yea, you're basically taking a cold start and putting it in video game format.
That's the thing with fuel injection. It turns the engine on without you and it can keep it on without you. You could make a remote starter work with a carb. It just won't be as "fire and forget" as it would with fuel injection.
Also, keep it away from your passengers. You wouldn't want anyone else pressing the button and "flooring it" while you're driving.
