I remember Edelbrock use to sell TFS tubular headers that were 50 state legal and fit in place of your stock exhaust manifolds but they discontinued them not that this helps you now but maybe someone else makes something similar.
Heat riser valve. It helps warm the intake manifold. They also had electric grids between the carb and intake.Isn't part of Thermac also the flapper valve on the exhaust of most vehicles to also help warm the engine up to operating temp sooner? I used to have alot of people come in trying to get the gasket for that piece and I remember really digging to find something that would work.
It will more roomy when the stock manifolds and air tubes are gone.Looks sort of cramped to fit shorties...
Lmao I was just saying that it looked a little tight because I have all that stock emissions stuff, AC/heater stuff, etc etc. everything just seems to be in the way. But, I'll try and figure something out, thanks. The shorties I was looking at are from Ecklers El Camino Store, so they should fit.It will more roomy when the stock manifolds and air tubes are gone.
I have never installed shorties because I always plan on going true dual exhaust but I have installed dozens of full length headers in Gbodies with very little fitment issues, just make sure the ones you buy are for your car.
If I can get these headers in a Gbody with a big block then shorties and a small block should not be an issue.
Make sure they are the rear exit style, the rams horn style won't fit our cars.Found some block hugger headers that are shorties. Think I might go with them, hopefully they won't have ANY fitment issues. If I do end up going with them and get them installed, I'll post something about it.
Yes, they're rear exit. Thanks for the tip too, didn't know that about ram horns.s
