I have removed some extra trim from my Cutty and I must say it looks cleaner and better. I took off that chrome frame around the trunk lock and the body side moldings on the back quarter panels. Also removed the "Cutlass Supreme" emblems on each side of the "C" pillar vinyl top and also the "Oldsmobile" name on the front header panel. Left the "Oldsmobile" nameplate on the right side of the trunk.

The car looks so much better without all this extra trim. Anybody else done this to their cars also? Don't you agree it looks a lot cleaner

every trim piece was taken off my car which includes fender cover things, bottom piece on the rockers, all emblems everywhere, and a few other pieces I can't think of, I absolutely love it but I am also not a huge fan of chrome so that could explain why also ha pictures????

My digital camera is on the fritz so I can't post a picture at this time. Chrome doesn't bother me in a moderate amount, but all the stuff the factory put on these cars was too much for my taste. I left the hood ornament, body side moldings on doors and rocker panel moldings on the car as I like these. Also left the door edge guards and the wheel well lip chrome moldings. These few look good on a black car to me.

Luckily, the Olds name script on the front header panel came off easily and didn't take any paint with it. However, even when I waxed the spot where it was, you can still see faint traces of it when the car is out of the garage in the sun. Also, the frame surrounding the trunk lock didn't take any paint but did leave a slight residue of the adhesive on the car that wax wouldn't take off. But it's not that noticeable and looks better with that chrome stuff off. Wax cleans off a lot but not everything. Also, the vinyl top cleaned up nicely under the cutlass supreme scripts.

Another advantage to removing some of this stuff is that the car should cut through the wind better and get slightly better mileage.
