Another Question... going to pull the console out of my Hurst Olds, replace the carpet.
Any tips doing taking out the console with the lightning rods would help...
Thanks again!

Here is my car before restoration, am I crazy....
Paint was poorly prepped, cracks everywhere, and the stripes were painted on, great job whoever did it!

Well it makes it really easy if you take out the passenger seat. I think there is only like five little bolts holding the console in place. I took mine out about four days ago. After I got the bolts out, I dropped the first stick down in the neutral position. Then turned the console sideways and lifted it out. You have to take the L/R top plate off first, and there are two bolts under there. Then open the console lid, and there are three more bolts under there. You have to unplug the pigtail for your console light wires, and take off a ground clip from the shifter base. Its pretty easy though man. You can figure it out.

Thanks! Looked pretty easy, but you never know.
You restoring yours, or just replacing carpet?

Im getting ready to put in new floor pans. The previous owner let the car get pretty rusty. So I am just working on it whenever I have spare time. I plan on getting it painted sometime early next year. Just trying to save a Hurst.

This era was not the best, these cars, love them, but costly to restore, good luck!!!! You are saving a great car!
