I am going to replace my shocks and springs on my 87 442. I would like to go with a stiff spring front and rear and do away with the rear airshocks. What type of springs and shocks do you all recommend? Might be interested in an 1 inch lower but no more and preferably remain with factor new height.
Thanks

Moog 5658 or 5660 up front and the corresponding rear springs. The 5658 has a spring rate of 579 lb in and the 5660 a rate of 639. Stock 442 is 420 stock gbody is 346. The 5658 should give about 1/2 to a 3/4" drop from the factory original ride height but may only be a 1/4 or 1/2 lower than your springs have compressed to. Make sure you get new poly end links. Shock either Billenstein or Edelbrock ISA. Don't cheap out on the shocks and you will forever be glad you did not.

What about Eibach's?

bilstein shocks. i have those and KYB and i like the bilsteins more. they cost almost twice as much but are worth it IMO.

as for springs i have no preferences, i tend to use stock ones for the most part but if i was to use performance springs i'd go with hotchkis or eibachs. they lower a little and stiffen up the suspension some. most likely i'd go with hotchkis.

there are moog springs you can use but i dont have the infomation on them like i used to i couldnt recommend a part number to you for fronts and backs.

x2 on Hotchkis, I know sombody with a full suspension package on his Malibu and let me tell you, I'm jealous

x2 on Hotchkis springs. and am running monroe sensatracs. i know a few people that have them and are very happy. but bilsteins are still the best.
