Near Charlotte, NC
Any one out there have a line on bumpers for an 81-87 Pontiac Grand Prix? I would settle for a good shop to rechrome the ones I have or even fiberglass replacements. I am near Charlotte NC. Any leads would be great!

There is a salvage yard up in Delaware that had tons of Grand Prixs, I got a pair of bumpers to eventually get rechromed for my '86 Regal there. It's an overgrown pick your part type yard. Probably too far though? There is also a complete '85 Grand Prix down the road that's been for sale for about 5 years, would be a good parts car, if I remember right the bumpers were good.

EBAY, my friend!!! I was looking for a set of front and rear bumper fillers and ended up buying 2 COMPLETE bumpers from a guy in Oregon and believe me, my bumpers are BETTER than brand new, even the CHROME vinyl trims!!! I don't remember who it was but he sells mostly bumpers as i could see!!

I just broke out the credit card and sent mine off to be rechromed. Spent $800 and they look great. Now if I could only find someone to plate my plastic grill!

I got a quote for my plastic grilles for over a g!! and they weren't even sure they could get it done!!

I have the solution for your grills, guys!! Do the same i'm gonna do this next spring and shoot an e-mail to SPECTRACHROME!! They sell a READY TO SHOOT PAINT that directly goes right into your airbrush or conventional paint gun!!! It's a paint but it's also METAL PARTICLES if i got it right on their website! 250$ for a quart but to me, for what i'm gonna do with it, i might order 2 quarts and i'll be good to chrome stuff for at least 2-3 years LOL...I'll use it on GP's grills, wheels and inside door trims, but after that i'll be using that paint on my modeling stuff only so...Gonna last for a while LOL!!

Just remember once you open the $250 can of paint you must use it within a couple months. I too am looking at spectra chrome and doing research. I have read a lot of post where the chrome turns yellow if exposed to direct sunlight. I just don't wanna get burnt so I'm gonna make sure it is worth the money first.
