Alright guys. Been researching and while the SEM or Duplicolor cloth spray/dye is an option...with these new covers being on sale this just seems like a smarter option for a permanent solution.
On to my questions:

The Cutlass split bench as I have are all considered 55/45 split benches correct?

Is recovering them an option on my own using the supplied hog rings and tool...or should I find a local upholstery guy to just knock em out?

These are what I am looking at grabbing on sale.

Thoughts?

Welllll........

It's just a guess, but this "kit" seems to be the velour style that's smooth, not "ribbed" like the original. I would say you would be further ahead by getting an upholstery shop see if they could replicate, or at least get it close, the covers you want. Also, if you can get the correct look of the original pattern, save those "buttons" in the centers of the seat "crosses". Nobody has them and seats look unfinished without them.

The stuff traces back to the ACME seat covers almost everyone else sells. Whether it's correct and will fit right is anyone's guess. I don't know. I've only had upholstery shops do a ground up with using the materials by the yard and was pleased with the results as far as fitting the seats correctly both times I've had it done.

Thanks man!
I am glad you called that out as they looked ribbed to me in the web pic. 🤷‍♂️

No shops local to me to make new sets unfortunately. Thus was looking for prefab. But if I need to, I can travel to Phoenix to get em done. I will email that company and see if these are ribbed. There is no way to tell from there stock pic on the website huh?
Sorry for all the questions..just a new endeavor for me. Lol. Mine are in amazing condition..just faded and want a refresh
Thanks for the insight and help fellas.

Your seats look in surprisingly good shape for the age. Maybe ask them if there's any "saving" those and maybe putting a bit of new foam under the covers to help bolster the seats to their former soft ride glory. Just an option.

Thnk you! They are amazing condition. No tears, rips or anything crazy. Just faded. With doing the carpet..figured might as well address these bad boys as well. I'll call some upholstery shops this upcoming week. 👍

If they are in good shape maybe a good cleaning and dye job? Nothing beats original material. Just an idea. Shouldnt be to expensive and if your satisfied great! If not back to square one.

Truly thought about this...as they are truly in amazing condition. Is there a dye you all recommend? SEM or Duplicolor? Are they all sprays?

Personally, I'd bounce it off the upholstery shop to see what they'd recommend. After all, it's not like they do that sort of thing for a living.
