I picked up an 86 grand prix aerocoupe the other day, doesnt have the rear window and those are hard to find. Is there any way to swap it with like a monte carlo aero coupe rear? Or just change the rear somehow? Any tips or pointing in the right direction is appreciated

Welcome to the site. The Monte aero rear windows won't work. Post an ad in the wanted section to help with the search. Pictures would be nice.

Rear windows are not made any more. You can buy a whole car cheaper than a used glass if you can even find one. There was a company making them out of lexan but they are out of business last I heard. You could buy my dad's 2+2 complete and ready to go for $9000... LOL

Thanks for the replies sirs. I love the car, its just unfortunate the rear window is so crazy lol. The car has a clean title starts and drives its a little rough but got it for 800 bucks so would like to make it nicer, it was on the way to being crushed lol Here are some pics, one of the window they rigged but water can leak in the trunk area not much rust though, mainly the bottom of the door, back of the floor pans.

Awesome this helps a lot, as for optionshas anyone ever seen or heard of an aerocoupe to notchback conversion

There was something a few years back about a notchback 2+2. I think there was a question regarding it's legitimacy. I believe the owner was claiming that it was a concept car done by GM, or something in that order. Frankly, I've never heard of one before.
I'm sure converting your car to a notchback is doable with the proper panels and components.

Thanks, yeah I saw that article of the notchback 2+2 said they ran out of parts for the aero coupe or something and made a few notchbacks but yeah not sure if thats legitimate, but theres did look good imo. I personally like a notch look better, I know that will involve more work but price wise it might be pretty close to a window. Decisions decisions.....id have to wait a little on the window 1500 plus shippings a good bit. Definitely dont want to do an injustice to the aerocoupes though.

If the 2+2 is anything like the Monte aerocoupe then make sure you get the seal/rubber trim with the window. That is harder to find than the window and you guessed it - no one repops them.
