My obsession with the 78 Monte Carlo started as my first new car I purchased. After being married, we sold it shortly afterwords, when gas hit $1.00 per gallon. The replacement was a 82 Ford Escort.... About 5 years ago I purchased a 78 Monte Carlo from South Carolina. Here are a few photos of where I came from, and to where I'm at today.

Here is how it sits today. Most of the exterior is complete, with the exception of the vinyl Landau top and my wheels and tires. When I'm finished, it will be real similar to my original 78

awesome looking 78! i love it. im not a monte guru or anything (yet!), but are those the stock side mirrors? my 78 has different ones. good job! cant wait to see the finished product. what kind of wheels are you going with?

Mark - don't kill me, but I like it better w/o the top!!! Hehe..

I can understand you want the top to match though...

It looks amazing so far. I really like the pinstriping too. Is it painted or sticker? Looks great with the lines.

I know you're going with 15" wheels, but if you still need help with backspace and tire sizing let me know.

Thanks for the compliments

Yes, those are the stock mirrors

Thanks for the help Tony. I need the black Landau to match the shirt you are making for me.... I may need some ideas on tire size for the 15's I'm getting? Fronts 15x7 4" bs Backs 15x8's 3.75" bs Thinking 235-60 fronts, 275-60 rears? The stripes are 3M stickers, followed the body lines, real close to my wifes 02 Monte SS.
