I watched Pinks a few times, I thought the idea was "lose the race, lose your ride".
But it was all about handicapping and shouting for deals before the race. I don't see the point of adding ballast, turning off nitrous etc. If someone has gone to the trouble of building a strip car let it run with all the go faster goodies working, facing off challengers running full spec with both parties up front about what's in their car.
I enjoy watching rwyb grudge racing, sometimes I've even had a small wager on my favourite. The favoured way over here is "cannonball" style, 4 heads up passes and the car with the lowest aggregate time wins, if the quicker car breaks or red lights or commits another foul then it loses.
If the format was heads up racing, best of several passes, let the clock tell the tale I would watch it some more.
But that never happened, so I quit watching.
Roger.
