will 3rd gen camaro rims fit my car?
they are 16 x 8 rims off of a 1991 z28 ( 5 x 4 3/4 bolt pattern )
a friend of mine has some for pretty cheap, but i wanted to know if they fit or not befor i drive way out to his house and have to bring them back here if they do fit.

just tryin to say about an hour and a half round trip
or 3 hours if they wont fit.

thx!

those should work. same bolt pattern and only the 4th gens would possibly have a baskspacing issue.

i thought they should being the same patter
and they arent much wider then the ones on there now and there seems to be plenty of excess room.

just thought the backspacing may be different

Backspacing is different. I'm assuming you are dealing with the iroc rims. The wheels are labeled "front" and "rear". The "fronts" will generally work on the front or rear of your car. The "rears" will not. I used 1" spacers/adapters, the ones that the adapters bolt to the axle then the wheel bolts to the adapter, to put the "rears" on the rear.

if the rears are such a problem couldnt you use 4 of the fronts? at least then you can rotate tires front to back.

no these are the 91-92 z28 rims
they are not labeled front and rear like the iroc 16'' wheels are, from the factory iirc these came with a tiny like 1/8 inch spacer on disc brake rear cars
im going to go get them this weekend, i dont see why they wont work from looking at the wheels that re on there now and how much rooms still left.

Ok, i think I know which ones you are talking about. Put a posi in for a kid with a 91 rs that had them. I have seen them on g-bodys before but not sure what was needed to be done if anything. Make sure you let us know if they fit.

And yes if you had four "fronts" of the irocs it would work. May possibly need a small(1/8 or 1/4) spacer depending on how good the factory centered the body on the frame.

the 91-92 Z28 wheels are front and rear. look again and youll find them marked.

i asked him if they were marked and he said no

ill take a look at them this weekend when i pick them up

just an update
i got the rims from him, no tires though
i did find a wrecked 92z im getting the rims and tires off of so i will have 2 sets. so ill try fronts n rears and then fronts and fronts.
so when im done ill know whats gonna work!
and ill post the results
