Was watching one of the news channels to see if the world was still in one piece and discovered that Junior Johnson had passed away. Remember him being interviewed on a documentary about the history of Nascar some time back and one of the topics being moonshine and hot cars with heavy loads on the back roads of Kentucky and Tennessee. Think that makes Richard Petty and Darryl Waltrip about the last of good old boys left.
Junior Johnson, a stock-car racing giant whose career spanned the sport's history as a fierce driver and an innovative mechanic and team owner, has died.
