its a 400 sbc. not too sure of the HP. i thought quadrajets only use what CFM needs to be used
 
It will only use what it needs, no matter what size it is. You can vary how it reacts by tuning the secondary air valve door return spring tension. Try your local book store and see if there is an HP books book on Quadrajets. If not, try Amazon.com.

Also, it looks like it may already have the 750 mod done in those pics, but it's a bit blurry so I can't be sure. I would also upgrade to an electric choke. It is as easy as changing the choke coil cover to an electric one off a 80's Quadrajet or Dualjet--basically any G or B body carburetor. I got mine off a 1981 Buick Le Sabre that was sitting across from the Chevy van I got mine from in the junkyard. All I had to do was change the cover, but I took the housing too so that it would look stock (no hose bung).
