ok i just put my 355 together. i have comp cam hardened manum push rods. stock length and a set of aluminium 1.5 rocker rollers. is it ok that the roller part of my rocker is not in the center of the valve stem tip. its more toward the outside of it but not actually on the edge. any advice would be great cause i really cant afford to change more crap

when you say more towards the outside, do you mean left to right? or rolling off the edge in its range of movement? a picture would be awesome. the roller should be pretty close to the center, or it will wear the guides. as far as left to right, usually as long as the whole valve tip is covered by the roller, its ok to have it hang of either edge a lil bit, but is better to have it centered. you're using guide plates right? a pushrod length checker is a cheap tool that can save money from buying wrong length pushrods in the long run. this may be as simple as loosening the rocker studs and moving the guide plates around though.

ok if your looking from the front of the block they sit more towards the outsid edge of the stem but not on the edge. the push rods are stock legnth and the rockers are stock ratio 1.5 just aluminium roller tip rockers. and yes i have guide plates for my push rods. buut how would that matter

that is about as good as it gets at the moment

What heads are those? Do they have push rod holes in them already or a large hollowed out area. You typically do not want to run guide plates if the holes in the head for the pushrods are there. I hope you understand what I am saying, kind of hard to explain. If you don't I can try and find some pictures. As far as the roller contact to valve tip, the tip should be centered under the roller as good as you can get it.

^^^what this guy said^^^

Here's how to check.

1)Remove 1 rocker arm
2) color (black marker) top of valve stem.
3) install rocker completely (lash)
4) spin motor by hand 2-3 revolutions
5) remover same rocker and look at where its wearing.
6) post picture of wear mark.

I'm willing to bet your fine but its not my motor 😀
These pushrods came with the heads correct?
Can you ask guy (who you purchased from) what rockers he ran?

I believe if wear mark is to far in (towards center of motor) you need longer pushrods, and shorter if more towards the outside. You really want to make sure you don't roll off the end of valve stem.

thats mine i tried to get as close as possible. if i took off the pushrod guides would that solve the problem or cause more

Removing the guide plates would probably improve the geometry, yes. It would lower the stud and thus the rocker and pull the tip further back towards the center. However, as mentioned above, if you have the style of heads that do not have cast in "guides" you may want to keep the guide plates. If you could, could you post a pic of the cylinders from a top view looking down on the springs?
