rocker arm pushrod advice please

I just looked back and I believe you said these are stock heads? If the holes the pushrods come out of the head through are only marginally bigger than your pushrods, you should be good to remove the guide plates as these holes will be enough of a guide. This would improve the rocker/valve tip contact.

they are 441 heads with the valves cut out to 2.02 1.60 and port matched off a 70 chevelle

Here's how to check.

1)Remove 1 rocker arm
2) color (black marker) top of valve stem.
3) install rocker completely (lash)
4) spin motor by hand 2-3 revolutions
5) remover same rocker and look at where its wearing.
6) post picture of wear mark.

I'm willing to bet your fine but its not my motor 😀
These pushrods came with the heads correct?
Can you ask guy (who you purchased from) what rockers he ran?

I believe if wear mark is to far in (towards center of motor) you need longer pushrods, and shorter if more towards the outside. You really want to make sure you don't roll off the end of valve stem.[/quote]

Do what this guy said

well i ended up putting the stock rockers on for now till i can buy some 7.7 push rods rather than the stock 7.8s length. no the push rods didnt come with the heads. and i think they ran stock rockers also. o well

ya we did that but the roller tip rode right at the edge of the tip. way off of center. im kinda bummed about it cause i wanted those rockers on my engine. but i already spent a hundred bucks on the pushrods
