Im gonna be honest im not sure where this really belongs so mods feel free to move it. Anyway im trying to figure out if I want to go with a 6-8pt roll cage or not. Before I make a final decision I have some small questions for those of you that have one in their rides.

1. First how did you weld it without ruining any of the interior? My car will have a full interior headliner included, no option here.

2. How did you paint it after the install or did you paint it then repaint the welds?

3. What options are there for the rear strut bars in terms of rear seat headroom?

4. Would it be against the point of a cage to bolt it to the frame instead of welding it?

This car wont be raced much and even then it wont be with slicks but I feel like with the 496 I will take all the chassis stiffening available. Pics are always welcome... Thanks

I guess I should have put Roll Bar instead of Cage since im only looking for 6-8pts.

1) I took everything out of the interior except for the dash and door panels and used welding blankets over those parts.
I would put the buckets in for test fitting and would check clearance with the inner door handle and side bar, I also bent my side bar out more for shoulder room.
2) I painted mine after I was done welding everything with chassis black, it seems to hold up pretty well.
3) I bent my rear bars to follow the roofline and go in the rear deck where the speakers originally were(moved them inboard).
But headroom was not a concern since I do not consider the rear seat useable for passengers.
4) To me if it is not welded in it is just a "Showbar" and probably cause more harm than good.

It looks like the back seat area might be a little cramped on that one.

My a and b pillars and upper plastics and headliner were in when it was done. I brought it to a shop who does killer work. I wanted it hidden and threw the dash. He did a killer job. The only thing he asked me is. Do you plan on taking the interior out? I said nope.

How accessible do you consider that rear seat GhettoRacingKid?

An idea for you, Bent my down bars to follow the sale panels through the rear panel on the out side of the trunk hinge which leaves
the trunk wide open. If your not looking you won't even see it. I've been call back to tech at 3 different track for no cage.
