Im looking at a '84 Cutlass which is pretty much in mint condition, BUT there is a 2-3 inch diameter hole in the trunk floor where the spare sits. How easy is that to fix? From the pics it looks curved so I cant just weld a flat sheet over it. Thanks.

Cut out a section from another car and weld it in. I dont think that is a very common place for holes to be, so it should be easy to find a patch.

I may be wrong here but wasn't there a drain hole in the spare tire well? I'm thinking it wasn't 2-3" in dia though. X2 on the donor patch anyway.

Try fiberglass patch. Clean the rust with a wire wheel or brush, lay the fiber material over the hole, Mix the glass as per instructions & paint it over the fiber, in layers. It will harden to a metal like hardness in a few hours. You should be able to get a fiberglass kit at most auto supply stores. - Jon
