After searching threads I still have some questions on this swap.....

1. What tools would I need to have with me to pull these parts at the pull it yard?? Socket sizes?

2. The year of s10 Blazer that I should be looking for is 1998 to 2004?

3. Regardless of options, will any 4x2 Blazer spindle work from years specified in question 2?

4. Can I use the 4x4 calipers and mounting hardware or does the entire set up need to be from a 4x2?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

I'm not an expert on this but I do plan to do this swap myself. I work at a salvage yard and I've been doing a little research on this at work. According to Hollander interchange, 98-03 2wd Blazers and Jimmy's and 04-05 2wd Blazers and Jimmy's with option code Z85 & Z87 should work. I can let you know what tools you'll need after I pull mine but that might be a few days.
The calipers on the 4wd's that I've seen are single piston instead of dual piston like the 2wd's.

A picklefork or a ball joint/ tie rod separator would be a definite on the list. If I'm not mistaken, an 18mm socket and combination wrench. The lower ball joint nuts were something like 7/8", the uppers were 18mm, I believe. I can't recall the other sizes, but I'd recommend bringing an assortment of metric and SAE wrenches, plus a small baby sledge hammer. The brake hoses I suppose you can just cut off, or if you'd like to remove them whole, it might have been a 14-15mm flare wrench. I also removed the brake hose/ line frame brackets.

Depending on what the yard will charge you for a whole assembly, I opted to leave the rotors behind.
The calipers can be used as cores, the pad brackets or PAB's may also end up being replaced...mine were worn.
You can purchase rebuilt calipers with hardware, and new or reconditioned brackets. As for the hubs, I'm going to take a chance using them. They seem to turn nicely...not loose, not tight or ratchetty.
