I came up with a some paintjob ideas for my Monte, but most of them have gloss on the bottom half of the car, a stripe, and satin paint on the top. Does anybody know a way to blend the gloss to satin without leaving a hard edge? I've already done quite a few google searches, with nothing to show for it.

That might work, but wouldn't there still be an edge from the gloss clear?

start with painting it all satin like GP said. It really depends on the look your going for i'm assuming you want to fade the gloss to the satin / matte. Your going to have an issue with blending the clear, its gonna look "dry" and will be textured like rhino-liner. you might be able to get away with it if you slightly over reduce the clear. Im not sure if this will work , but it was a common thing to try when blending the clear coat in door jams. Also set the fan of the spray gun to as wide as you can go and reduce the material pin/screw by a turn or two.

You might want to pick a color thats a bit forgiving. Ie: not black.

Blending colors is not impossible and can be done, but ive never heard of blending gloss to matte. Its not going to work in my opinion. Rather, it can be done, but I dont think the result will be as subtle as what youre aiming for.
