yeah i am in the same debate right now. i have a 350 sbc with a 2004r and 4.10 gears in my wagon with a 255/60/15 . i am debating on dropping in a set of 3.55 or 3.73 gears. the 4.10's came with the car.

I'm going to be running a 2.73 in the Monte as I live in a rural area everything is atleast a 20 minute drive at 55. I guess an upside (if it is) is the Saginaw has a 3.11 first gear.
If its a M20, you should have a 2.52 ('66 & up, 2.56 '63-'65) first. The M21 & M22 use a 2.20 first.I did. And my OCD is kicking in on this. I made the hard decision to go with a Ford 9". I have the 2.73 in mine now and since the trans swap it is so way much more fun to drive. I have a lot of first gear in the Muncie and maybe splitting hairs on the mid 3.?? gear

I thought we went over this. A 2.20 1st is miserable getting off a start with anything less than a 3.42. 3.7x is bad enough.
