It's a tough choice. I have 245 r15 tires and I like the idea of the power with a 373. But the engine is turning a pretty gook lick at 70 mph. Premium fuel is going to do nothing but go up. But, between each gear you are only talking about a 100-150 RPM difference at 65MPH. Not that much when you think about it. Way different if a daily driver though

I'm going to be running a 2.73 in the Monte as I live in a rural area everything is atleast a 20 minute drive at 55. I guess an upside (if it is) is the Saginaw has a 3.11 first gear.

I did. And my OCD is kicking in on this. I made the hard decision to go with a Ford 9". I have the 2.73 in mine now and since the trans swap it is so way much more fun to drive. I have a lot of first gear in the Muncie and maybe splitting hairs on the mid 3.?? gear

If its a M20, you should have a 2.52 ('66 & up, 2.56 '63-'65) first. The M21 & M22 use a 2.20 first.
