I was wondering if anyone could tell me what year Buick (or any other vehicle) i could find this motor in, what kind of headers, exhaust and motor mounts i need, i know a sbc would be easier to source but i wanna keep it simple (as far as installation goes) and this car will not be reving high at all. i drive a 84 regal sedan. any advice would be greatly appreciated and taken into consideration. thanks. 🙂
Well, if it's a Buick 3.8 V6, than the Buick 350 drops right in on the V6 mounts.
They were produced from about '68 or so until around '77, give or take a few years in each direction.
If you're just building a cruiser, as opposed to high-performance, stock exhaust manifolds will do just fine.
autozone sells buick 350s without a core charge either, $1570 plus tax. i got some prices on engines from them since i have a friend who works there. i'm not a fan of autozone however they can get you just about any engine you're looking for it seems.
i got prices on a caddy 500, pontiac 400, buick 350, SBC 350 among some others....most are pretty reasonable. the most expensive was the caddy 500, under 2500. most were at or under 2K and that's including core charge. pontiac 400 is a hair over 2K.

yes it is a complete long block. all of them are complete long blocks.
yeah they're more than i can afford currently but i also consider if i bought one used and cheap and it blows up i'm gonna have to get it rebuilt, costing me about as much. might as well shell out the money up front and not worry about that plus they come with a 3 year warranty from date of purchase.
going with a rebuilt or new engine would be a good choice. But believe it or not my buddy has a full size 72 Jeep Cherokee with a Buick 350 bolted to a TH350. All stock and original.
