Ok so one more question...this is where I'm kinda dumb ive never put an aftermarket cam in something so this is something new too me...what would be the proper cam for factory 305 heads nothing done besides heads dexked a bit do too me having to change a head gasket?? I read on motor trend somewhere they put a xstreme enery xe262h10 cam in a 305 but they said it was for later head changes...but they still seen a 40 something up gain out of it.?? Thats with a performer intake manifold too which is what I plan too run.

That cam would probably be a good choice. For a used 305, I would buy the cam kit with the new valve springs and timing chain to put it back together.
