I am currently restoring a 81 Olds Cutlass Calais and I am trying to put a sbc 357 in it but I can only get one side of the mounts to go through (Drivers side). I purchased the Camaro frame brackets from summit which the part # is OER-332648. I originally had the taller mounts and realized they were wrong so I purchased those but I can't get the passenger side to go through, the stud will go in but it's slanted. I don't know if its the mounts on the chasis or brackets, or do the mounts on the body go a certain way, I was assuming it didn't matter. I have the g force crossmember for the 350 turbo. Just can't get the block to mount completely, I know you don't have to drill b/c the forums say it will work. Bottom hole of mount is hanging off like it is supposed and I don whiggle so much..Need Advice

That part number is a Camaro block mount not a frame mount. And I don't think it will work in a Gbody.
You really need to look for parts listed for a Monte Carlo.

What I meant is those are the brackets that go on the block, my question is are the mounts on the body of the car hindering it from fitting b/c I thought they were all universal.

How far off is it? If it goes through the upper mount ear and into the frame mount then you may just need to move the rear of the transmission up, down or side to side enough to get it in. Those rubbers aren't always aligned perfect. It's also not unusual to have to use a hammer to tap it through, it's the whole reason those chassis bolts have a taper on the tip.

I could never find confirmation that the gen 2 f body mounts fit the g body.

I have tapped but maybe I need to be more aggressive and it is so close like I can get about 3/4 of the bolt through but it starts going in kind of slanted but you can see about half of the bolt through the back of the mount. It's so close and I have whiggled and shifted the engine up and down but no luck. For god sakes I even had my wife help me!!! Lol.

Is this your first time mounting a 350? On my 1st time I made a classic mistake of torque the mounts one at a time so when I got to the 4th of course it was always too high; you have to screw them all in loosely and torque them in unison. If you do them one at a time when you get to the 4th mount it is never going to screw in...

Some times you can get a pry bar between the two halves once the bolt is started and move the parts enough to get it through.

@ pencero it is my first project or mount but the 4th hangs off, should I loosen the mount and see if that helps? It's so close but no cigar!!

The Chevy mounts have four holes but the lower front one does not bolt to the frame. From the factory they only had three bolts. See photo...I hope this was the actual question you were asking...
