I don't know if this is the right forum to put this...but I am junking my 231 3.8 V6 out of my 84 cutlass, along with the 200C metric trans. I am curious to know what parts in both are aluminum.

the motor is all iron/steel except the intake may be aluminum. the transmission case is aluminum but youd have to yank all the internals out first.

Gotcha...in the motor, the rods aren't aluminum and are the brackets in the front aluminum? In the transmission I was curious if any of the drums were aluminum.

The parts that a magnet does not stick to.

Trans case only. Front cover and pistons only on the motor. I'm pretty sure the intake is iron.

Does it pay?

Does it pay for me to break it down to scrap it or should I just junk it whole? I figured it would make it easier to transport, and maybe get me a little bit more cash.
