Looks like Sears is closing it's doors soon so if anyone has warranty returns on tools time to get it done and time to check Sears out for sales....Another icon bites the dust...

The local ACE hardware stores sell Craftsman tools. I would think they warranty them, too.

I used to work for Kmart/Sears last year. They are closing a LOT of stores. Kmart bought sears, and is actually dragging them down. Yes, some stores are popping up and hiring more here and there, but it's like trying to bucket out the water on the titanic. it's only a matter of time. There was a list I found that had all the stores that were gonna close within the next year on it. It should still be out there somewhere.

Sad, but they asked for it. Non- competitive and poor customer service did them in. Which is odd because my cousin's wife used to work there and the policy was - "The customer is always right- no matter what!". Somewhere along the line that changed for the worse. I want to say that since Craftsman tools are now made in China- good riddance. But I also used them for big ticket stuff like hot water heaters and snow blowers. Maybe someone will throw millions of dollars at them to stay open?!?

Well if/when they do close, it's been a long time coming. I knew they'd be going out of business eventually as soon as they stopped warranting Craftsman Rubber Hoses several years ago. Sears isn't what it used to be. Buying KMart was a bad decision. Their customer service is so wretched that it's no wonder no one wants to buy from them. "Craftsman" used to be synonymous with "quality" but now tons of Craftsman stuff is foreign made and lower quality. Putting the Craftsman name on these new budget lines of tools ("evolv") that were designed for single moms and men who know nothing about fixing things was a bad idea. My older Craftsman wrenches and ratchets (c. 1970) are still working great and I've only broken a few. I bought a new smaller set just over a year ago to replace some of the missing tools from my older set, and I've broken multiple tools, multiple times. Sears dug their own grave.

Kmart acutally bought sears. In many people's opinions, Kmart drug sears through the mud. I worked for kmart for about a year and a half. You hear all the babble of the upper management and the corporate dudes. It's a shitty situation all around. Won't be surprised if they're all gone by 2030.
