Im not trying to sound like some conspiracy hippy here but yes it would make performance obsolete. The suits at the government and computer nerds want this because like i said before to them cars are just an appliance to get from A to B and think driving is inconvenient and think the time could be better spent. The government wants this because it will take away our freedom little by little, be more convenient for them, and possible monitor everything we do on a daily basis. And soccer moms, their younger kids, CEOs of company's etc. will eat this S**T up because oh i can spend more time with the kids, or oh i can do my homework on the way to school, oh look my twitters updating sure glad i don't have to drive with my brand new self driving car so i can spend more time on FACEBOOK!!! Look i can text and drive now! Thanks Google and Obama for taking away my freedom of the open road cuz i cant drive i probably would flip the F**K out if i had to do it on my own!!

Umm....no reason to worry about this happening anytime soon...why?...because the insurance companies would be out of business in 10yrs due to the accident rates and claims dropping to next to nothing, so they would be forced to lower rates, and they dont wanna do that.
Obama taking your freedom of the open road?....oh brother.... :blam:

I refuse to live in a future where I have to 'check in' with Uncle Sam every single time I get into a driver's seat. I never thought I would wake up in a society that thinks self driving cars are acceptable. When I get into the car the thing I want to do is: Drive. I don't even have a facebook page. I still use CD's and pirate music to cd-r. So what. It's still like the 90s out here in Indiana. Come here and try to change this get a 360 turn-around. Self driving cars? Myself and my real native Hoosiers would not stand for this. Not even at gunpoint.

Yeah.... and our fathers and mothers said the same thing about seat belts and airbags and dwI checkpoints....Face the facts..... You either change things to suit your needs or others will change them and you have to adjust, but changes are always inevitable (sp).....sucks getting old, dont it? :friday:

I am not a lemming. I doubt I will still be alive when California's first jurisdiction mandates the 'self driving car' but if for some reason I am: no I will not adjust accordingly. Instead I will immediately die in a pointless uphill gunbattle that I could not have possibly won and take out as many neo-nazi's as possible the minute they touch down to convert my jurisdiction to their socialist ways. Good Games. You must be the change you wish to see in the world.

Exactly what i was thinking. I'm not saying i want the self driving car gone altogether but as people if our voices are heard we could prevent it from becoming a law in the next 50 some odd years. But if we lay back and take it then we as the people will get walked on and you might as well spread your butt cheeks and say hey don't stop now i like getting screwed!

I wont compare it to seat belts and air bags as those make sense. I wont pull my car out of the yard without a seat belt on.

My apologies for the profanity I don't wanna make anyone mad that's just how i feel about the situation
