i'm looking for the oil sending unit and the temp sending unit,.. i go to my local auto part stores and the look it up in their computer and it says that my car doesn't have them,.. which i know it does, but i cant seem to find sending units anywhere.. does anyone know where i can get some? and y the computers are saying that the car never came with sending units?

just bought a oil pressure sensor................$24.50
you need to find a parts store with guys that know thier stuff. the 350 is about the most common engine there is.......if they know nothing about it...........shop somewhere else

Oil pressure - Airtex P/N 1S6649, $5.71 at Rock Auto
Water temp - Standard Products P/N TS43, $14.68 at Rock Auto
Gotta love the parts store monkeys. If it is not on their computer, it never existed. I usually go online and search the local parts store inventories first before I go. That way, I can bring a part number with me, or just be lazy and order it online.
BTW, for stuff like that just tell them it's a 260 or 307. It will all be the same as they are all the same family. Sometimes giving them too much data can hurt you. You just need to know which things are chassis specific and which are engine specific.

Get creative, tell them you have an 81-84 Calais or 85-87 Salon to get results for sending units for gauges since they all came with them just like the 78 Salons and 78-80 Calais, as mentioned before the part store monkeys don't know or even give two sh*ts...
