I have a 1987 Cutlass that had 307 auto. It had no engine when i bought it! I have insalled a 468bbc in it and want the factory gauges to work!! I know green wires are water temp! Brown is oil-light-gauge. What does the red switched power wire go?? I was thinking it goes to alt!! And what wires do i hook to alernator for voltgauge to work??
Any help would be awesome!! JOHNBOY🙂

thanks

Don't forget that your oil and water temp sending units must be the type for gauges, and not idiot lights.

Yeah i priced coolant one! is $40. I think it takes two for oil, light and gauge, ill get figured out! I am more curious why my volt gauge dosent work and i have power to headlights, tails, ign, tach, but no gauges!! HUH???? Hell it even starts and runs! Must be missing a wire somewhere??

This is '85-'87 Cutlass wiring. See if you can enlarge it and you should be set.

I'm sure it's just a loose connection or it could be your car's way of rebelling againsts an owner who names himself 'BOPman' and then puts a Chevy engine in his Olds.
