Good call. Sometimes i impulse buy stuff while stuck at work and forgot the car only had a two bulb taillight. For this reason i think i will return these boxes

These look like the way to go, and i see they have a kit for the two bulb taillights like mine. Thanks for the linkI have sequential taillights on my regal. I seen the kit you have listed above, being sold on ebay or amazon. The reviews didnt seem the hottest. Mainly because they were not sealed. The 1st set i had lasted 9 yrs but 1 went bad and the company is no longer in service. The set i have now is from "Web electronics" and works with led and incandescent bulbs. The only thing i did different from the instructions is not drill a hole in my body for the wires. I took there module and filled it with rtv. I moved the wires around to help get a good seal. I put them on this last spring, so far good.

Just my opinion but I think a 2 bulb per side tail light set up will just look like it is toggling between the 2 lights and not look sequential at all.
Their site is a little different navigation. But the kits seem great for me. I tried adding a video, but something isn't right on my end. I uploaded it to youtube though just now. Had my 8yr old helping me..lol

So my Malibu is a two bulb system. I ended up buying the STS-2 kit and per their instructions the modules don’t do anything. Starting on the driver side, the socket has two signal wires. It appears the signal wire jumps from the outer bulb to the inner bulb. Directions say to start with inner bulb. Following their instructions, signals work but not sequentially. I decided to flip it around, wiring module inner lamp wire (red) to outer socket, and module outer wire (white) to inner socket signal wire (the jumper that comes from the outer socket. This produces the sequential effect, although a brief one. And it is reversed. I thought about just flipping the sockets when installing into the taillight (not ideal) but thought Id ask you guys before going any further. I have not opened up the passenger side yet. Because of the two bulb system, you will not be sequential, but appear alterating... so dont use your turn signals at railroad crossings. 😛
I agree that it's not ideal but I admit that I'd probably try it just to see. Although I'd also be looking for a different kit.
Again.... make it easier on yourself, go on ebay/facebook marketplace/etc and look for a decent pair of '81-'83 entire tail light assembly, splice in a 3rd(middle) brake/turn signal light, its like having your cake and eating it too.
New taillights might be more than Im willing to spend. I know the 78s are crazy prices. I opened up the passenger side and it is wired “per instructions” so i decided to just extend and flip the sockets on the driver side, and wiring on passenger side was as expected. For a two bulb it actually looks decent once they are in the taillight. It does not flash like a railroad sign, the inside bulb stays on. Worth the ~$50 but not much more.
