Hey everyone, I know many people are not a very big fan of the relatively weak stock TH200 and TH200C. Well I figured what the heck, only 30 bucks, so I bought a TransGo shift kit this past week and decided to throw it into my Regal (trans was fine, no problems, except sluggish).

The difference is night and day. Usually the shifts are very sluggish and slow. Not anymore, you can actually feel a nice, quick, firm shift between all the gears. I'm sure it also improves quarter mile times (like i would ever take this car to the strip) and fuel economy. It also says it will make the transmission last longer due to less wear on clutches and less slippage.

Basically reprogrammed most of the valve body. Also a little modification to the intermediate servo. I'd say this kit woke up the transmission a bit.

This is a great upgrade if anyone wants to beef up their TH200 a little, but doesn't want to swap it for a TH350. 😀

What was included in the kit? I believe the 200 uses the same servo as the 2004R, go billet 😀 . Those trans are used in racing with many of the upgrades used in the 2004R.

I remember reading that somewhere that some parts from a 200-4R would fit. That would also be an excellent upgrade to strengthening it. The gearing in the 200's I imagine would be good for racing.

Included in the kit was a new modified seperator plate with valve body gaskets (already drilled with the correct holes). You do have to drill a 5/32 inch hole through the valve body casting, the drill bit is not included,

an extra chack ball (you actually have to take 2 out, i guess it was just a spare),

many new springs. You have to change out about 6 or so springs in the valve body. A bigger accumulator spring is used.

Some shims and a different spring for the Intermediate servo. You have to take out the E clip on the servo and put in some spacers. You also have to drill a 5/32 hole in the servo piston and install a slightly bigger orifice cup plug furnished in the kit (where the old smaller one went).

Oh yes, the instructions were very detailed as well.

Also included was an optional governor spring. I didn't change that as I was happy with how it was.

The only thing I would have liked to come with but didn't was a pan gasket. Overall it was relatively simple to install and totally worth it. 😀

It sounds exactly how the servo in the big 2004r kit used to be, it now comes with a billet servo. Where is the governor in the 200 trans?

The governor on the 200 is on the passenger side of the case nearing the end of it. Its about where the speedometer cable hooks up, except located on the other side.
