Has anyone in here ever coverted their column shift linkage from rods to cable? I know everyone is going to say put a floor shifter in it, but if you see my car you will understand why I won't. I am having a problem when i get on it in 1st gear it will shift by itself. I have Hooker headers on it and already have the linkage reconfigured to clear the headers plus the header is dinging so i can get it into 1st gear. What i think is happening is because of the torque the linkage is moving enough to make it shift by itself. Just wondering if you could weld a bracket onto the firewall to mount the cable? Just an idea.
