shift lock is broken

Hello, my shift lock isnt working anymore and I have two small little boys, any ideas what broke and how I can fix it right now
it will just shift with out pushing the button.

With key on, off, or both? If its just the button on the shifter not working it sounds like the spring that pulls the j rod back up broke, or a piece inside the handle broke. They are plastic and it happens. G body parts has all the repair parts.
