Mark, is it being shipped to you, or from you? It may have to go with a freight line. I think depending one the weight of the unit, it may be able to go FedEx or UPS. I think it's a 150 lb. limit, if I'm not mistaken.
I just shipped a th350 from BC to alberta via DHL, came to $160. Likely to be cheaper in the states. It weighed (according to their scale) 160 lbs with a 3000 torque converter. I built a small pallette out of 2x4 + 1x4's then secured with platic straps followed by a cardboard box over top with a couple more straps.
