I'm a student on a limited budget, so I can only do a little upgrading at a time. My Regal has completely stock suspension, and I want to upgrade. What order would you recommend doing it, given that I can afford about one a month and may have to delay for even longer between upgrades if something unexpected happens.
I want to replace the shocks with KYB, the springs with stiffer but no height adjustment, and the sway bars which are currently 1" fore 7/8" back with stiffer bars.

Since you car already has swaybars, You will probably see more of a difference from the springs and shocks. I would save up and do the springs and shocks at the same time as they kind of go together.

find f-41 package swaybars at the junkyard and get poly bushings for the front.
IIRC you can use s-10 springs from MOOG which will give you a stiffer spring rate with the same height.
like jerry said replace the springs with the shocks. i would not use KYB. they work well the first couple of months then they get pretty soft. if you can afford it, get bilsteins or koni's.

Bilstein is out of my price range. Monroe Sensatrac or the KYBs are about my only options.
