im lowered 3 in the front and 2 in the back and running into problems rubbing in the front over bumps. i have some cheap monroe right now and was wanting some of your input into what a good stiff shock was. not concerned with ride quality i want it to handle over ride quality. already has around 600+ pound springs in the front but still rubs. thanks in advance for any information.

I've heard the bilstein HD series are good shocks. I just fitted my Monte with a set but haven't taken it out yet because it's still in a few pieces, but they were impossible to compress with your hands where as the KYB's I bought for my daily driver could easily be compressed with your hands.

I just installed a set of Bilstiens on my cutty recently. It's a huge improvement over the old Monroe's I used to have.

I went with these "Gabriel Load Carrier Shock Coil Springs" autozone has them...had them on my elko and the ride was sweet, just picked up a front a rear set for my 78 malibu as well...give them a try..They run about $58.99 a set..
