SHOULD I BUY THIS CAR?

Well, I will call the seller tomorrow and see if I can take it to my mechanic so we can put it on a lift and go over every inch of the motor and undercarriage. I too am a little skeptical. I know these stroker motors run about 3 grand alone on eBay, so this seems too good to be true. But if there is nothing me or my mechanic can find, it's mine, even if there's an issue we somehow missed, I'll still get my money back all day if not profit some. Thanks for all the advice, I appreciate it.

My engine makes the same HP (but mine is at the crank) and it was $3500 alone lol. If the engine is legit, buy it!

I'm pretty sure that the v-6 setup would fit with the v-8 block, when I went from the v-6 to the v-8 in my '79 Monte, man I miss that car, it all went together no problems....But for that price, it's a steal...Scoop that baby up!!! 8)
It probably had the all amazing 3.8L V6 in it

Definitely worth $2500 ... but always try to knock a little off the asking price

if the car was orig built to drag.. he probably took the p/s out as a simple mod to shed weight.

If they didn't get a power steering pump for that car then they were a bit lazy...lol

The pump for the V6 and V8 cars are virtually the same. The difference is going to be in the reservoir used. The pressure and return hoses are located on a different angle. If you have a good V6 pump and have a V8 pump that's bad you can actually remove the pump itself from a V6 reservoir and insert it into a V8's reservoir. It will work fine.

One would have to wonder if the car still has the power steering box...If it were all out racing then they woulda probably put a manual box in ...just thinking out loud 🙂

Yea but even if its missing the PS and steering box it wouldn't be all that expensive to reinstall.

Well thanks for all the responses guys. I am picking the car up tomorrow and driving it to my buddy's shop to put it on a lift, and we'll go over everything with led flashlights. If there is little to no rust and no leaks (didn't seem to be when I looked under the hood, but you never know until you've been under the car), I will buy it. It drives okay with no p/s, but my buddy can put a new p/s system in there for 300, less if he can find the parts at LKQ or a junkyard. If I buy it, expect many more pics, and better ones than the 3 I snapped with my phone before the test drive.

Power steering pumps are the same, just different mounting brackets for different engines. Guy probably didn't know how to work on it.
