Should I even mess with this?

leave it alone... there is a reason why the seller is not rebuilding it, darts are expensive blocks, if he couldve rebuilt it and saved money he would have!

I don't know it might be fine for a street application but unacceptable for his application.
what about your application. Bet this block does not have provisions for power steering, AC, maybe even a regular crank driven water pump or oil pan that will fit your car.

According to Dart the Big M uses all standard Mark IV and Mark V big block parts... Fuel pumps, oil pumps, timing covers, starters, distributors (on standard deck), intakes, heads, etc. Other then it would be up to choosing heads that have holes drilled for accessories. But I've been thinking it over, it's at the minimum gonna be 600 bucks to buy it and get it here, then 200+ to have it magnafluxed... I'd be out 800+ just to find out if the block is salvageable. I just don't have that kind of money to gamble with... If I ever get around to it, I'll shell out the extra cash just to get a new block or an undamaged used one.
