Should my 81 Lemans have one of these?

Pulled out my battery tonight and it doesn't look like there was ever a battery tray in the battery area. Here are some pictures I took

And this is the hold down that just doesn't look correct

Hopefully someone is able to take some pictures of the hold down in theirs or give me some info..
