silver faced speedometer??

did the cutlass ever come with a silver overlay on the speedometer? i found a cutty in the salvage yard that had silver overlays(i think its a over lay) ans was thinking about grabbing it but i wasnt sure if it was aftermarket or stock... if it is custom does anyone have a use for it? it is not the rally style which is what i have right now and am keeping

I have never seen one personally with the silver , but that doesnt mean much per say . I remember summit offering the kits to do that for some g-bodies some years back when their popularity was peaking . Could be the ticket there .

Yes, the silver faced granny gauges were an option in 1978 and 1979. They're actually kind of rare and are very nice looking. You should snag it and then re-sell it.

they were actually in a 84-85ish cutlass. i might snag them this weekend. is anyone intersted in them??

I didnt' know they were available that late. I have seen a few '78 and '79 models with them. I love them, but my '87 has the four speed overdrive transmission with the extra "D" on the shift quadrant so the silver gauges won't work with my car. They only came with the three speed TH200 transmission.

i think this car had the 307/200r4 but not for sure
