An issue I have been having for a short amount of time is when I crank the engine over it starts off very slow. Then it gradually speeds up enough to start. After a carburetor change it will not start warm. It cranks over very slowly almost like the timing is way off but regardless what I do it will not change or start for that matter. When running the volts gauge reads around 14v no matter what accessories I have running. When I shut it off and turn the key forward it reads just under 12. I put a gauge on the battery and it reads 12.4v. When I go to start it the volts gauge completely drop off to where it doesn't read.

It didn't start doing this until yesterday when I fired it up for the first time with a new carb. Before then it was slow at first then sped up like I mentioned. Battery is in trunk with 0 gauge power and ground wires and a remote solenoid on the firewall. Any ideas?
