now i want to ask you about removing the vacuum pump and all the conected lines.
can i do that without getting trouble with controlling the vent system,or ignition,or brakes,or carb.
i want it out becouse i dont need it and its in the way when servicing the car,and we have no smog tests here.
can some one tell me how to do that in a safe way, i mean what to take out ,what to blind/plug off, what to alter and what to leve as it is.

Are you referring to the A.I. R. pump?

That's not a vacuum pump; it supplies supplementary air to the exhaust manifolds and the catalytic converter to reduce emissions and aid in quick "light-off" of the converter on cold starts.

If you want to remove the whole system, you need to remove the pump, the mounting brackets and drive belt, the small tubular injection manifolds that are attached to the exhaust manifolds, the thermal vacuum switch/control module and the air injection line to the catalytic converter.

When you remove the injection tubes from the exhaust manifolds, use brass pipe plugs to plug the openings.

When you remove the converter injection line, you'll need to block off the small tube to prevent exhaust gas leakage out of the open tube.

i don't know if its the a.i.r. pump it is above the steering pump and connected to the intake mannifold[i yhink for oilfumes] and the airfilter[to lead it into the carburator and burn it] and a black cannister infront of the left frontwheel and then some more thin hoses that make me think of vacuum.

Are you referring to the vapor canister purge valve?
Look like this:

getimage.php

That valve controls the evaporative emissions and allows the engine to burn the fuel fumes instead of venting them to the atmosphere.

If you eliminate it, be sure to properly vent the fuel tank OR switch to a vented fuel filler cap if you close off the vents.

Hopefully someone else on here can give specific advice on the right way to do this...I've always left them on my newer cars.
