pfft.. I call it Tuesday.. or Wednesday .. or the day my car dies at work and I have no wheels to get to the parts store for a simple $2.00 part to get it up and running again. I leave mine parked now until I have a positive attitude towards fixing it rather than a negative one about what's broken now

I know how you feel. Drove the Grand Prix to work a while back and popped the break line heading to the rear as I was leaving to come home. I was under the car all day running new lines so I could get home and sleep (I work the night shift). Luckily a co worker lent me his truck to head to the part store 1/2 a dozen times

GM. Crate engine. 350 4 bolt main. has MAYBE 50 miles on it

Broke it in on used plugs, I know not the best idea, but it worked.

Used Starter

Used Water Pump

Used Alternator

Used Fuel Pump

So Im going through it, I took out the electronic advance distributor replaced with Vac Advance. I get 5 out of 8 new wires cut and crimped with new boots MSD street fire wires. Step dad says hey throw youre old wires on and move it to the other side of the yard, so I do. I put the timing back to where it was previously and it starts.

So anyway I get to the other side of the yard finish with new wires plugs cap rotor and distributor swap go to start it

AAAANNNDDD the starter takes a sh*t.......

Go figure

What makes you think the starter is bad? Does it turn just a little and then stop cranking? Or just click? Do you have 12 volts at the trigger wire? Have you tried cranking it with the coil unplugged?

It is way too coincidental to make it through one start up and now nothing - my two cents and best of luck. FWIW, most autoparts stores will test your starter - might be worth it.
