I just put Metro on my front doors. It looks ok, was fairly easy to install and it fits pretty good, but there are a couple of air leaks. So far, I've not been able to adjust my doors to close properly - to seal out the wind noise but not be hard to close.

I guess it's better than the original seals that were falling apart and spreading black powdery crap all over my carpet, but I don't know if I'll buy the same stuff for my back doors.

Sofseal lasted pretty long on my Firebirds,15 years so far, but not on my Malibu. And after 10 years when the Malibu stuff crapped out it was worse than 25 year old GM. Now I have Metro for my wagon doors because that's what was available and will be doing it this summer, keeping fingers crossed.

Some good replies here! , im kind of leaning toward steele at the moment but im gonna do some digging and see what metro is like, i'll let ya know the outcome! wish me luck! 8)

I have Steele weatherstripping on my Nova, and it works great, BUT, X-body cars have full-frame windows, 2-door G-bodies do not. That may be where the difference is.

I used Metro and it sucks. The roof rail seals are so thick the window will not go all the way up when the door is closed. :wtf: I know it has been awhile since this has been discussed, but I am just now finishing the car and all I have to do is put the door panels on. :wtf:

Man, that sucks. I have used the Metro on my old '72 Cutlass I had, and it wasn't a perfect fit, but with a little tweaking it ended up working out nice. My window sweeps are non-existent! It is the only weatherstripping that is worn out other than the upper window mouldings. I have to run tape down where the window sweeps were when it rains to keep my doors from filling up with water.
I guess I'll have to spring for the GM stuff while I can still get it. You weren't kidding about the price either.

i got mine from opgi and there a good product so far, but EXPENCIVE! i still have the shipping tubes with my window sweeps ready to install. it was over 300 bucks for my elky window seals and sweeps.

I just did mine and I used new old stock sweeps that I have had around for years, and the 4 weather strips for the doors I got from Soffseal I had no fitment Issues with them. My door windows don't leak any more when I wash the car,They seem a bit fuller than the originals..The doors are a bit harder to close but they seem to be relaxing a bit now.
