If you live in the Sunshine and Humidity State, post here along with where you are. I live in Tampa Bay, specifically New Port Richey.

hey is your car show ready? cause my club is trying to host a show up here if your interested, its probally 3-4 hours away. its going to benefit teen driving saftey and anti-drinking and driving. It wont be for a long while, but im trying to get 200+ cars and some atv's and cycles... but yeah if your interested Ill let you know more as I figure out when and where.

My car is not even ready to leave the driveway. I just started blocking it out today, and it needs at least one more priming and blocking session before I can paint it. It's just a gutted shell right now, but it does move under it's own power. It just has nowhere to sit but the floor...

think it will be drivable by late this year?

Maybe. I am hoping to have it prepped and painted by the middle of June at the latest, preferably by the end of May. Then I will have to sand and buff the paint, and at least get the weatherstripping in before it gets too hot. At that point I can poke at it from time to time when I have the money to buy the remaining parts and such that I need. I should be able to drive it by the end of June, but probably won't want to because I want to leave the interior out until I can put the sound deadening, stereo wiring, window tint, cruise control, headliner, speakers, etc. in. I still have to buy most of that stuff, so it could take a while. This is how it looks today. There are more pics about 5 or 6 threads down, and also on my Myspace.

Well, I have owned it since 1993, and it was used as a pizza delivery car for almost 200k miles, so it has a little wear and tear...

Thing is, it is very straight, bodywise, and all of the exterior rust has been patched with steel. My main areas of work this time around ( I have painted it 2 other times) were the hood, trunk lid and roof--all of which had to be stripped due to peeling clear. The roof was stripped with a flapper disc, then sanded in 80 grit, then 220, then primed. I am sanding that primer now, and will be priming and blocking it again shortly. All of the interior is in beautiful condition except for the headliner and visors, which I will be seeking as soon as the car is painted. By the end of summer, it should be a cosmetically complete car, lacking only in some details. I have ways of doing things on a tight budget, but even I can only go so far when I am not making much more than I need to pay for the basic bills.
