Sound Deadening?

Some people like to strip all the sound proofing out of their cars, but I like to add some extra. What I am looking to do is get some inexpensive sort of vibration barrier like Dynamat without spending a lot of money. I will also be using the old school absorber barrier mats made of rebonded fibers on top of it as well. I was thinking of the E-Bay special stuff like Fat Mat, but have read some bad reviews on it which state that it loses it's adhesive quality over time, and smells bad. Now I am not building a SPL car, but I do want to be able to put some sort of vibration dampener on the roof, back deck, and doors (where the 5.25 in mid woofers will be) to help the stereo and make the car a nice place to be during long road trips. Does anyone have any suggestions from personal experience? I want to make a decision in the next day or two so that I can finally put the car together next week. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've got a lot of the Ebay stuff in my Charger, and I've had no problems with smell or coming up.

i got this stuff from home depot. its for insulating water pipes. it said right on the package that it can also be used as sound deadening. so far there is ablolutly no smell what so ever. and unlike peel and seal its not made with cement.

Charlie,
I think he said that you have to apply your own adhesive. No biggie.

If I'm not mistaken, this stuff is like bubble wrap with a foil outer layer.
It looks good though.
