I want to add two more speakers to the factory four using an after market stereo. How can I do this? do I just add the 2 in series with two of the other? Or would I do it in parallel like the factory concert sound two. Thank you.

You Said Guru, and I'm not a Guru.. But Im decent. Running the speakers in series will double the ohms which wont nothing but lose wattage/sound. But running them in parallel cut the ohms in half get more wattage/sound but IDK if the headunit can safety handle it. I have alwayz just ran them in parallel. Never had will known problems. But I never really research headunits capabilties.

I will give you my current setup. Right now Im running my 3.5 in speakers off my Pioneer headunit and also my 6x9. And have 2 10's on an amp of course. All my sound is overwhelming coming from the rear. I want more sound up front so Im going to install 5 or 6 in speaker up front in the door or the kickpanel. BUT Im goin to run the 5 or 6 in speakers and my 6x9's off another amp. And just have my Headunit pushing just my 3.5 speaker. That way your mids are powerful. To compete with the bass. I think this is the best bang. For a decent setup. Alot of ppls dont have sub. So there no need to install a separate amp. In that case I would be run them in parallel on the front speakers.

Just remember to pay attention to impediance, factory speakers are different (ohms) then most aftermarket. I recently had a newer Cadillac that wouldnt run 2 sets of components on a very high end Alpine head unit, but was fine with the factory deck and a Pioneer Premier that was later installed. I would say depending on the brand of deck, call somebody who sells them and ask them, usually they can help right away

Best thing would be to use an amp that is set up for 6 speakers. But, otherwise, just try them in parallel. But don't do them in series unless the speakers are exactly the same.

im not aguru either but if your gonna go with a aftermarket anyway you can do it

get a radio with 4 preouts

get either 1 passive eq and a crossover and run amps to them
set one as your high and mid then take the mid from the eq for another set of mids

or just scrap all the speaks and run a decent sound system

becuase its just gonna be a matter of time before the stock speaks take a dump

front speakers for a gbody suck to get to and replace anyway im personally gonna take the ones out of the dash and delete them and make small fibeerglass mounts for the doors and drop a set on 1 1/2 inch tweets in the corners of the dash. rears are the crappy 4x10's so im gonna scrap them as well drop the 6x9's under the side quarter glasses. and theres gonna be 2 12's behind the rear seat
ill be running a sony headunit kinda want the one with the engine sh*t on it temp, oil press, trans temp and fuel pressure
ill be having a sony/alpine (alpine is good for the fiberoptic amp inputs :bump: W00T!!!

ill have 1 set of tweets 2 mid and 1 low and im lookin at like 2k watts

Thank you for all your help everyone here. With all your advise the research I did and asking a rep from both pioneer and rockford fosgate. I'm just going to rewire my regal with better painless wiring. And add n amp to power the 2 additional speakers. Because the head unit I want to get or any other will have a built in amp. I love my music but its only for me. I'm not looking to get attention. The car gets enough attention because of its looks. 😛
