if you take out the seatback you will see the metal support. The decklid is appx 5" wide. You will need to cut a notch abot 1.5" wide and 6" long in the metal seatback to allow your 6" speaker to mount flush. Otherwise you can use the plastic adaptors but I always found they would rattle and have the speaker hit the trunk support rod.

Crappy pic from the inside of the trunk. You can see I have bolts temp holding the rear of the speaker in place while I drilled the front. As well you can see the notch cut in the metal seatback.
