Speedometer cable thread size

Without cruise, you're going to want the 100 inch. I tried the 80, did not go well.

63" is for cars with cruise

I have a Pioneer CA3003 in mine now. works OK, not as heavily constructed as the OE cable, but seems to be OK so far.

If your car did not originally have cruise, that cable will do you no good without some means to connect it to another lower cable.

Cruise cars had a cable from the trans to the transducer mounted on the left inner fender liner, then a cable from there to the speedometer.

Non-cruise cars use a single cable from the speedo to the trans. It runs between the iner fender and the firewall, and is clipped in place.

Replacement cables ar available at most parts houses, and not a lot $$ more than the handling charge ordering from Jegs or Summit.

I just removed mine and lubricating it. It's from an 86 Monte SS with cruise, 2 piece directly from transmission to speedo..I'll measure later.

Yes, I believe the later cars had electronic cruise, which did not use a transducer like the pre-ECM and early ECM cars did.

My previous employer's 86 GN also had a 2 piece cable from trans to speedo, but my 83s still had a transducer on them.

Well i needed a cable cause im having to take the instrument cluster to get fixed and they wanted the speedo cable i assume to test it during the repair. I dont know if my 2nd cable is stil hooked to the transmission but lets say its now cause i doubt it is. What 2nd cable should i get to go along with the 63"? Can you send me a link if you dont mind?

So nothing going to the transducer?
Are the cables the same or what would be the 2nd cable i need assuming i dont have it asside from the 63" cable i ordered?

I just realised i think what i ordered was the "lower" cable cause it appears to have 2 threaded ends.
I need the upper which goes to the speedometer?
What length do i need for the upper? And will 63" be yoo long for the lower?
